The Tai Heritage Pro font is a Unicode-encoded font designed to reflect the traditional hand-written style of the Tai Viet script, which is used by the Tai Dam, Tai Daeng and Tai Don people who live in northwestern Vietnam and surrounding areas.
Version 2.5 of the font can use either Graphite or OpenType rendering, but the OpenType rendering is restricted to applications that use ICU shaping. (As of November 2012, Uniscribe does not support the Tai Viet script.) The font has been tested with WorldPad and LibreOffice Writer using Graphite rendering on a Windows 7 platform, and with XeTeX using both OpenType and Graphite rendering on both Windows 7 and Linux. The Graphite features in this font have been updated to work with the CSS support in Firefox 11.
Tai Heritage Pro is freely available and may be used by anyone at no cost. It is released under the SIL Open Font License, a free and open source license that permits modification and redistribution.
