XLingPaper

Version:
2.23
Released:
June, 2013

XLingPaper helps authors overcome typical obstacles faced when authoring linguistic papers or books by providing:

  • Automatic numbering and re-numbering of examples throughout the paper.
  • Automatically maintained consistency in citations:
    • all citations in the text automatically have a corresponding entry in the references.
    • only cited references are given entries in the references section.
  • Automatically maintained consistency in Gloss Abbreviations:
    • all abbreviations in the text automatically have a corresponding entry in the list of abbreviations.
    • only abbreviations used in the text will appear in the list of abbreviations.

The consistency features mean that an author can maintain one master list of references or abbreviations and simply include each list in any given paper. Only those references and abbreviations actually cited in the paper will appear in the references and abbreviations sections.

XLingPaper also creates a hyperlink between the abbreviation in the text and the abbreviation in the list of abbreviations. A reader can click on the abbreviation and see what it means.

XLingPaper uses XML, and is therefore a suitable format for archiving. XLingPaper needs to be used with an XML editor such as XMLmind XML Editor.
