SIL announces additional dialogue with partners on translation practice
SIL announces a hold on approval for publication of specific translations under review and begins a season of focused dialogue with partners related to best practices on the translation of Divine Familial Terms.
SIL responds to false accusations
Is it true that SIL supports removing “Son of God” and “God the Father” in Scripture translations?
No—SIL maintains its historic position that Scripture translations must promote the understanding of the term, “Son of God,” that includes Jesus' relationship as Son with God the Father. SIL affirms the eternal deity of Jesus Christ and requires that it be preserved in all translations.
