Managing a Bible translation programme requires a wide range of skills and knowledge, from strategic planning, building partnerships, and financial management to technical subjects such as translation theory and linguistics. This degree, developed jointly by University of the Free State and SIL International, gives students a strong foundation in all these areas to enable their service as manager of a Bible translation programme.

Students begin their studies with two weeks in Bloemfontein, South Africa. They meet the programme leaders, get to know each other, and begin their management and leadership classes. Students then study by distance for the rest of the degree.


The primary language of instruction for this program is English.

Courses in this program cannot be taken apart from the degree.
