Abstract:
Clay figurines from coastal Sonora are classified into five types and are described as to design, decoration and size. A temporal relationship between the types is suggested. The origin of this figurine complex and the function of the figurines are discussed. It is the tentative opinion of the authors that the figurines served only as playthings.
