Description: 
Three of these photos are of Mitla Zapotecs weaving with a backstrap loom. The fourth is of a rebozo which had been made with a backstrap loom, hanging out to dry after being dyed. Morris Stubblefield says that the Mitla Zapotecs refer to the backstrap looms as "waist looms."
