Muna-Buton and Wotu-Wolio compiled word lists

The heart of this resource is an Excel worksheet comprising 194 keyboarded word lists. It represents our attempt to compile in one place nearly all extant word lists for the dozen Muna-Buton languages and the five or so Wotu-Wolio languages of Sulawesi, Indonesia. Incidentally this collection includes ten word lists for Bungku-Tolaki languages and two for Indonesian Bajau, but these languages were not our focus. A majority of the word lists in this collection were previously published, or were extracted from prior publications. Unpublished word lists were made available to us by various researchers or were drawn from the SIL Sulawesi survey archives. Because we have taken these word lists from different sources, they naturally follow different schemas (Swadesh 100, Swadesh 200, etc.). Header rows in the Excel worksheet allow the data to be reordered according to fifteen different word list schemas. In this collection we report data as it appeared in our sources, without attempting to harmonize the various transcription systems employed, or even to correct known typographical errors.
